Meghann Plunkett is a poet, screenwriter, and dog enthusiast. She was named a Best New Poet of 2018, the winner of the 2017 Missouri Review's Editors’ Prize as well as the winner of the 2017 Third Coast Poetry Prize judged by Natalie Diaz. She was a finalist for the 2016 Narrative Magazine's 30 Below Contest as well as a finalist for the 2017 North American Review’s Hearst Poetry Prize. She has also been anthologized in the 2017 Best of Net Anthology selected by Eduardo C. Corral. Meghann holds an MFA from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale where she was recognized by the Academy of American Poets in 2016 and 2017. She holds a BA from Sarah Lawrence College. 

Her poems can be found or are forthcoming in Narrative Magazine, Best New Poets 2018, Third Coast, Pleiades, Rattle,  Washington Square Review among many others.  Her essays and erasures can be found in Luna Luna Magazine. Her animated poem, “Human” can be found on Button Poetry. She is a writer in residence at Omega Institution and serves as a poetry reader for The New Yorker.
